I’ve always been someone who rallies behind counseling. I can’t say that I’ve felt benefited from it myself until now. Shannon came highly recommended from a friend and honestly, has become a time that I look forward to. She listens, she validates, she corrects, she empathizes, and she has done her best to show me a new way of thinking about myself and my circumstances. I went in thinking that I had a very specific issue to work through, only to realize how deep my feelings actually run. It’s the first time in a long time that I feel confident in who I am, as low self worth and depression have been significant parts of my life. My husband and my closest friends have seen a difference in my demeanor. Having a 3rd party, unbiased, joyful, boisterous, faith-filled, available person has done wonders for how I articulate my thoughts and how honest I am now able to be. Be forewarned that counseling is not a once and done…good things take time, but I believe Shannon is a great start!

Shannon was so easy to tell my problems and yet was very professional in her approach- I have seen several other therapists and feel I have made so much progress in seeing her now- she truly cares about helping me and I finally feel good about seeking help and a friend.

Shannon is awesome! She works around our schedules, listens well and doesn’t take sides. Highly recommended! No matter if you do marriage counseling before or AFTER getting married, Shannon will NOT disappoint or judge you.

Shannon is fantastic! She was made to counsel couples and individuals. I am a huge proponent of counseling even if you appear to be problem-free. Even just talking to someone to sort out your thoughts is very helpful. My husband agreed to do pre-marital counseling with me and to my surprise, he was very receptive. He is less forth-coming with his feelings, but he really opened up and we were able to work out our kinks before we tied the knot. We refer to each other now as the “new Nikki” and the “new Travis” after we had Shannon’s help. We covered all the topics that married couples encounter. She helped us communicate better and encourage each other more. She is very patient and judgement-free. It was so helpful to have an unbiased third party assist us in sorting out what was rational and appropriate. I would encourage anyone to seek out her services whether you’re in a relationship or not as she has very good advice for dealing with anxiety, too!

It was one of the hardest things to do, swallow my pride and call to seek therapy. But it has been one of the best and most rewarding decisions I have ever made. Shannon is so incredibly easy to talk to. She doesn’t judge you and that’s one of the things I love most about her.
