Help Your Teenager Learn to Cope During Tough Times
Schedule a session with a therapist
One of my most favorite parts of being a family therapist is working directly with teenagers. The greatest predictor of the success of therapy is the relationship between the therapist and the client/family. I begin working immediately with the teenager to build a rapport built on trust, respect, and open communication.
I love to work with individuals who bring their own challenges and often work closely with the parents as well when the teens are younger.
They are constantly working hard to make sense of this crazy world and try hard to find ways to understand peer relationships and the importance of belonging. I join with these teenagers to give them support and help them navigate their decision making and aid them and expressing their emotions appropriately.

Teenagers are most often unpredictable as sometimes they themselves aren’t really sure why they are feeling emotions that are sometimes unrecognizable. I enjoy getting to know each one of them and feel confident that I offer support to them, encouragement with decision making, and the knowledge that they can trust me as an unbiased supporter of them during these often difficult times.

Every teenager is special with needs and interests that are often not obvious to their family members. I join with my teens and their family to become a team working together to meet their goals.
