When should you seek behavioral therapy?
Individual therapy is very specialized to each person with whom I work. I believe in encouraging my clients to talk openly about themselves in an effort to establish their own personal goals. I believe the more self-aware a person becomes, the better decisions he/she will make. We work together from the first session establishing rapport and then strive to find the balance of acknowledging successes and what is working along with identifying challenges that will result in positive change. I have seen how effective re-framing can be to help my clients see life experiences in a different light. Cognitive-behavioral therapy is very successful when belief systems need to be reevaluated regarding relationships and even very useful in helping my clients change their perception of themselves. In individual therapy, I join with my client to form a team, and we worked closely together dedicated to reaching our goals.
